“Drifting Sand” Poem...

“Bring You Flowers” is a new page in the Galaxy Cafe section. This page is dedicated to our troops  & their families, and is meant to honor those who are serving our country. “Bring You Flowers” is a song written and performed by Kristen Scott, a new artist on DesertSnow. The song is about a young woman who lost her husband in the war in Afghanistan, and is now raising her son alone. This song is based on a true story. As we celebrate the holidays, please remember our troops and their families in your prayers and in your gifts,  whatever you are able to do for them.

For God so loved each and every person throughout all ages that he sent his only Son (a Prince) to this world as a homeless man (a Pauper)...that whoever would believe that he really is a Prince and accept his death (as payment for the things they have done wrong),  they would not lose themselves (die) but inherit the true riches (that  will never fade), and live forever with God...John 3:16

“The foxes have their dens, and the birds have their nests, but I, the Messiah (Jesus Christ) do not have a place to lay my head.”   Matthew 8:20

The Galaxy Cafe has “food for the soul,” and includes special features about musicians around the world. As time goes on, more artists will be added. During the holiday season, new articles, videos, and art will be  added. I hope you enjoy these pages. If there is something you would  like to see in this section, especially with regard to our troops and their families, please send us an email at support@desertsnow.org - thanks!

River of Fire

There is a river of fire

That moves like fierce wind

And its power no one can fathom

Or change or shape or bend

Its flames are raging torrents

That can burn through anything

That would stand to fight the power

That a river of fire can bring

And the river of fire -

…Is a river of angels

Flowing from God’s throne

The river of fire no one can stop

And its limits are unknown

But the Son of God at his Father’s side

Needs only to raise his hands

And the river of fire will move and sway

Hundreds of millions of angels to his commands

And the mighty Son left his throne

To become a homeless man

And his Father gave up his Son for us

According to his plan…

As Jesus was led away

He held the river

Of fiery angels at bay

As He was killed that day

His Mother cried out to God, “Why did you take my Son away?”

As a throne in heaven stood empty that day

The fiery angels asked the Father,

“Is Jesus the only way?”

And as all of the angels

Prayed for release of their Prince,

The Father God answered and said: “No...”

“There is no other way...”

Hundreds of Millions of angels attend the throne of God with the mighty Son now seated “At the right hand of God.”

Read these chapters: Daniel  7, Hebrews 1, Revelation 4 - 5

Background information for the “River of Fire” poem:

Where did you get the idea that the angels of God form a river?

In Daniel 7:10 we read: “A river of fire ran in front of the throne.”

In Psalm 104:4 and Hebrews 1:7 we read: “He makes his angels flames of fire.”

Also in Daniel chapter 7, “Myriads of angels” can be translated 10,000 X 10,000 or 100 million angels. This many angels gathering around God’s throne (when made of fire) would look like a river – or a whirlwind of fire. Since Daniel 7 specifically mentions a river, I take that to mean a river of angels.

Since believers are to someday “Reign with Christ,” and since we are “Heirs of a kingdom that cannot be shaken,” ruled by God that Hebrews calls “A consuming fire,” this tells me that our bodies (presently) could never withstand the heavenly realms.

In I Corinthians 15, it says that “Flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God.” It refers to our bodies as being “Corruptible.” This means that our bodies deteriorate, but our new bodies don’t ever deteriorate, because in the same chapter it says, “The corruptible must put on the incorruptible.”

There are references all over the Bible about angels & fire. A fiery chariot and horses took Elijah home to heaven. The eyes of angels (and Christ) are said to look “Like flames of Fire.” The picture in Psalm 104 is that angels are made of flaming wind. “Tongues of Fire” appeared on the people who were at the day of Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit came upon them.

This is why I believe that the river of fire spoken of by Daniel is made of angels. I don’t think that this river stays in one place; I think it is always moving around, separating, coming together again, and ebbing and flowing. And one minute it may look like a river, and other times they may all be separated as individual angels.

Some of this is speculation on my part, and it isn’t something that is important, except that it gave me a poetic way to explain and emphasize the powers of heaven that are at the disposal of Jesus the Christ.

Sometimes I wonder why people believe that God the Father would let his Son go into the hands of his enemies for nothing. Most fathers would give their lives for their children – let alone an only child! If there were another way to heaven – why would God not protect his Son?

In John 19 when they came to arrest him, Jesus said to his disciples, “Don’t you know that I could ask for (tens of thousands of angels) at this moment to  protect me?” That would make a huge whirlwind, or river of fire. A whirlwind of fire protected the Israelites from the Egyptian army. I wonder if this fire was a whirlwind of angels. If they could protect the Israelites from the entire Egyptian army, I think they would have no problem with a few Roman soldiers and officials from the High Priest.

Is Jesus the only way?

Jesus asked the same question – “Is this the only way?”

He raised his hands, stopped the river of angels who could protect him, and then gave his hands to his enemies to die for them.
