When our eyes meet sometimes I look away - ‘cause I see pain and I see the blur

Of feelings in your life rushing by so quickly

Eluding my grasp but touching my heart

Promises made by some to me, they still hurt and I can still see

The time when they turned away from me - eluding my grasp and hurting my heart

When I see you I see the reflections, of  people and places going in all directions

Away from me when I needed them most

Like the ocean tide away from the sandy coast

When our eyes meet I want to share my thoughts - I want to show you the hurt that we both share

I want you to know that you’re not alone - that your name comes to mind when I’m in prayer

I can see that you’re hurting from dreams that crumbled, when colors on a sunny day turned to gray

When you sat on a swing and no one pushed you - when your hopes got up and walked away
