In August of 1985, my husband was diagnosed with colon and liver cancer. For three years, we all walked through the "valley of the shadow of death," (Psalm 23: 4) and our lives were altered drastically. We all believed that Ray would beat this thing called "cancer," and that God would get the glory from it. But on March 7, 1988, Ray died. Ray's death was the first of 17 immediate family members and friends, who all died in the following 15 years. There were other crises as well ... any one of which could have had major destructive power in our lives.
But God DOES still get the glory through it all. It's time ... and He is working ALL things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. (Romans 8: 28) God has enabled me to publish a new book entitled "One Foot On A Banana Peel..." "One Foot..." is about grief ... or, more specifically, it's about the HOPE that God can bring through times of trauma and tragedy. "One Foot..." is intended to help those who are in desperate need to know God's love for them. You see, as deep as the pain goes, so deep goes the love of God to comfort and bring healing to us ... right in to the heart of our tragedies and traumas.
