This poem is dedicated to those who have lost a daughter. I hope this poem will help you to think of anything you can find that is good.

I hope you will find comfort in knowing that the Lord Jesus Christ is not limited to space and time like we are. He is with your child, and He is with you.  He loves you, and someday He will destroy “The last enemy - death.”  (I Corinthians 15:26)

Did you know that death is God’s enemy? And the shortest verse in the Bible - “Jesus wept” (John 11:35) was written to show the deep remorse Jesus felt at His friend’s death.

Candy Star

 

When little girls dream

Of balloons and pink ice cream

And tea pots and cups in the air

And when they imagine pink bubbles

Are all around

 I can see you right there

Yes I can see you right there

 

When blue skies seem

To have everything

The sun and a warm breeze in the air

I imagine beautiful flowers

Are all around

And I can see you right there

Yes I can see you right there

 

I know you’re in heaven

And thoughts of where you are

Are very sweet to me

Like a candy star

 

Candy stars are special

Because they are so sweet

Just like you, my darling daughter

Because you are such a special treat

 

I know that God will take care of you

I know I shall see you again

And take you in my arms, precious one

And joy shall never end

And joy shall never end

 

And for now when I see pink bubbles

And balloons float in the air

My dreams shall go up with them

Until I meet you there

Until I meet you there…

 

When I fill my mind with sweet things

And precious memories of you

Even the stars turn to candy

As I dream and think of you

 

All the precious moments I remember

Having you at my side

Draw me nearer to the One who knows us

In whom we both can confide

 

For He loves me where I am now

And He loves you where you are

And that is such a sweet thought

 For those who have lost a daughter

There was such an urgency inside of me to get this poem done.  I just want you to know how much God loves you, how much you can depend upon Him to take care of your little girl, and that He always keeps his promises, even in the most terrible circumstances.

Have you asked Him for help? Do you have a peace in your heart? You can ask Him for help anytime, with sincere faith, and He will help you and walk with you through the valley of death. You can pray, “Dear Lord Jesus, I know that someday you will destroy death, and that you will wipe away all tears. Please come into my life, forgive me of what I have done wrong, and be my friend forever.” Amen

Start reading Revelation chapters 21-22, as well as I Corinthians chapter 15. These books are both in the New Testament of the Bible. Let your mind dwell on the promises of God, and ask Him to show you something you can hang on to. Don’t ever be afraid to share your feelings with Him. If you are angry, sad, confused, or whatever, just cry out to Him.

“As for me, I shall call upon God, and the Lord will save me. Evening and morning and at noon, I will complain and murmur, and He will hear my voice. He will redeem my soul in peace from the battle which is against me.”
